Official Letter of Invitation for Visa Purposes

For participants who require an official Letter of Invitation from Chung-Ang University (CAU) for visa application, processing, or interview purposes, please note that the International Organization for Health, Sports, and Kinesiology (IOHSK) will issue and process the official letter in coordination with Dr. Sungje Park, Co-Chair of the International Conference, only if the following requirements are fully met:


A. IOHSK Membership Requirement:

Applicants must be a registered and paid member of IOHSK at the time the Letter of Invitation is requested.


B. Conference Participation Requirement

Applicants must have:
– Submitted an abstract for presentation,
– Received an official abstract acceptance notification, and
– Completed conference registration payment.

These requirements are mandatory, as the Letter of Invitation is a critical supporting document for visa issuance and immigration clearance upon entry into the Republic of Korea.


Travel and Research Grant Recipients

Recipients of an IOHSK Travel and Research Grant must meet Requirement B, except for the conference registration fee, which will be covered by IOHSK.


Attendance Without Presentation
Individuals planning to attend the conference without a presentation, but who have official meetings or scheduled events with IOHSK and Chung-Ang University, must meet both Requirements A and B in order to verify the official purpose of their visit to Korea.

You can apply for K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) if you hold a passport from countries or regions (i.e., U.S.A, Albania, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Qatar, Romania, Taiwan, Thailand, U.A.E., UK…).

  • Korea’s natural environment features mountains, plains, and seas in equal measure, contributing to the country’s diverse and unique culinary cultures. Korean food, or hansik, is characterized by a clear distinction between the main dish (rice, noodles, etc.) and the side dish (called banchan), diverse recipes, a balanced mix of animal and plant products, and refined fermented foods created with great care over long periods. The Korean people have also believed that food and medicine share the same origin, following the adage that “food is the best medicine.”

  • Chung-Ang University is a private institution with 30,000 students and 1,165 faculty members. It consists of 15 undergraduate colleges and 18 graduate schools. It operates two campuses, in Seoul and Anseong, Korea.

  • A meal in Seoul can range from $5 to $8 USD at a casual local restaurant to $30 to $50 or more at a trendy or upscale establishment. Street food is often the cheapest option, costing around $5 or less, while a meal at a mid-range restaurant will likely cost between $9 and $19 USD per person.  

  • The IOHSK President and CEO, Hosung So, is planning to provide two consecutive evening cultural tours for invited speakers and grant recipients on July 22 and 23. In addition, he has planned a special visit for invited speakers and grant recipients as the official ‘IOHSK Delegation’ to the World Taekwondo Headquarters located in the center of Gangnam (famously known as ‘Oppa Gangnam Style’). There will also be a special Taekwondo performance similar to what you may have seen featured on America’s Got Talent.

  • Yes. There are banks both on campus and within a 5–7 minute walking distance of the university. In addition, there are many restaurants—including McDonald’s—along with coffee shops, bakeries, and more. Even if you are a selective eater, you will be able to find many suitable options, including Halal food.

  • Chung-Ang University has its own medical school and hospital on campus, and CAU is well known in Korea for its medical programs—including hospital services, nursing, and pharmacy. CAU is widely recognized as one of the leading universities in Korea, consistently ranked among the top 6–10 out of more than 300 universities nationwide.

  • Most of the invited Korean-American speakers and IOHSK Board Members will also be staying on campus, which will be helpful in case of emergencies or unexpected situations. While on campus, IOHSK will organize several group activities to ensure communication, safety, and a meaningful experience.
