IOHSK Announces the Election of Dr. Sung-Je Park as International President for East Asia

The International Organization for Health, Sports, and Kinesiology (IOHSK) is delighted to announce the election of Dr. Sung-Je Park as the new International President representing East Asia. The IOHSK Presidential Election was conducted virtually on February 7, 2026, under the supervision of the IOHSK Board of Directors. Dr. Park was unanimously elected to this distinguished position.

Dr. Park will officially assume office on February 8, 2026, and will serve a two-year term through February 8, 2028. In this role, he will represent and oversee IOHSK activities across East Asia, including Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Mongolia.

Dr. Sung-Je Park currently serves as Dean of the College of Sport Sciences at Chung-Ang University in Seoul, South Korea, and is the Co-Chair of the 9th IOHSK International Conference to be held at Chung-Ang University. He has served as Vice President of IOHSK Asia for the past three years, contributing significantly to the organization’s academic development and international collaboration.

Dr. Park was one of the founding members of IOHSK in 2020 and became the 10th IOHSK Fellow (FIOHSK #10) in 2025, recognizing his sustained scholarly contributions and leadership within the organization. He is widely regarded as one of the leading scholars in the fields of sport data science, information processing, and data analysis of professional sports and games, with impactful research that bridges theory, technology, and applied sport performance.

Most recently, December 2025, Dr. Park was elected President of the Korean Society of Olympic Flame (KOSOF), founded in 1996, KOSOF is a private, nonprofit sports organization composed primarily of former elite and Olympic-level athletes who are now university professors, researchers, and sport leaders. The association is dedicated to preserving and promoting Olympic values and legacy while supporting the sustainable development of elite and high-performance sport in Korea. Dr. Park has also served as Vice President of the Korean Society for the Sociology of Sport.

As a professor and academic leader, Dr. Park’s work spans
(a) academic research, teaching, and administration in sport sciences and physical education;
(b) global sport science collaboration and conference leadership through IOHSK; and
(c) elite sport advocacy and governance through leadership roles such as President of the Korea Olympic Torch Association.
