IOHSK Announces Election of Dr. Monoem Haddad as President of Middle East and Central Asia

The International Organization for Health, Sports, and Kinesiology (IOHSK) is delighted to announce the election of Dr. Monoem Haddad as the new International President representing the Middle East and Central Asia. The IOHSK Presidential Election was conducted virtually on February 7, 2026, under the supervision of the Board of Directors. Dr. Haddad was unanimously elected to this distinguished position.
Dr. Haddad will assume office on February 8, 2026, and will serve a two-year term through February 8, 2028. In this capacity, he will represent and oversee IOHSK activities across 27 countries in the Middle East and Central Asia, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Cyprus, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Türkiye, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Uzbekistan, Yemen, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Palestine. In accordance with the IOHSK Bylaws, the President of the Middle East and Central Asia is entrusted with representing the regional interests and managing IOHSK programs, initiatives, and organizational activities throughout the region.
Dr. Monoem Haddad serves as the Dean of Academic Affairs and In Charge of Research and Graduate Studies at the College of Sport Sciences, Qatar University, where he is also an Associate Professor in Exercise Physiology and Coaching Sciences, and a Graduate Faculty member with supervisory status. He holds a PhD in Biological Sciences (Exercise Physiology) and an HDR (Accreditation to Supervise Research) from Claude Bernard University Lyon 1, France. Dr. Haddad is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine (FACSM) and a Fellow of the Qatar University–Harvard Higher Education Fellowship Program.
His research portfolio encompasses applied exercise physiology and sport coaching sciences, with a particular emphasis on training load monitoring, perceived exertion, fatigue management, sleep and cognitive functioning, and performance optimization in athletic and university populations. Dr. Haddad’s work bridges laboratory research and applied field practice, enabling evidence-based decision-making in sport performance, health, and higher education. He has authored and co-authored over 150 scientific publications, including peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings, and has secured multiple competitive research grants.
Dr. Haddad actively contributes to the international scientific community through editorial and peer-review roles and has served extensively as a reviewer for high-impact journals in sport and exercise science. Beyond his scholarly achievements, he has held numerous leadership and professional service positions, including committee memberships with the American College of Sports Medicine, notably on the Professional Education Committee and the Research Awards Committee. Through his academic leadership, research excellence, and global engagement, Dr. Haddad continues to advance innovation and applied impact in sport sciences both nationally and internationally.
President Dr. Haddad has also been invited to serve as a plenary speaker at the 9th IOHSK International Conference, to be held at Chung-Ang University in Seoul, South Korea, from July 22 to 24, 2026. In addition, he will play an instrumental role in promoting institutional and international collaborations through strategic partnerships, formal agreements, and Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) among participating universities and scholars.
