The Hoichi-So Scholarship Foundation

The Hoichi-So Scholarship Foundation
2026-2028 Policy

To support student success more effectively and sustainably, beginning in 2026 the Hoichi-So Scholarship Foundation will operate under a revised establishment policy. The Hoichi-So Scholarship Foundation at IOHSK follows a merit-based model and provides support to universities and institutions rather than to individual members. To be eligible, an institution must have at least five active and registered IOHSK faculty members, and at least one faculty member must demonstrate a strong record of service with IOHSK, such as serving on the Board of Directors, Journal Editorial Committee, or on a conference organizing committee for a minimum of one year.

Once a scholarship account is officially established, IOHSK will commit funding for a minimum period of two years. Continuation of the scholarship beyond the first year is subject to an annual evaluation of the institution’s level of activity, participation, and engagement with IOHSK. The scholarship account may be discontinued after the first year if expectations and participation requirements are not satisfactorily met.

The annual scholarship funds awarded to each selected university will be determined based on demonstrated scholarship needs and the size of the university, college, and/or academic program, and will typically range from $3,000 to $7,500 US Dollars per university per year.

This scholarship represents a significant investment by IOHSK in supporting student members worldwide. Therefore, all scholarship recipients must be registered and active members of IOHSK at the time of application submission.
