Tha-Ha Owasif Aurnob, who has officially joined Chittagong Grammar School – National Curriculum as a Games Teacher, effective January 4, 2026.

Chittagong Grammar School (CGS) is widely recognized as one of Bangladesh’s leading educational institutions. Its National Curriculum campus, located in Chawkbazar, Chattogram, is committed to academic excellence while emphasizing physical development, sportsmanship, and holistic student growth. In his new role, Mr. Aurnob will be responsible for lesson planning, curriculum development, and the delivery of instructional sessions across a range of traditional sports and cooperative games.

Mr. Aurnob’s appointment reflects his sustained commitment to leadership and service within the field of physical education. Throughout his engagement with IOHSK, he has consistently embodied the organization’s core values through active participation, mentorship, and global collaboration. His service includes roles as IOHSK Student Intern (three years), Assistant Director (one year), and Board Member (current two-year term). Most recently, he was appointed as an IOHSK International Ambassador for the 2025–2026 term, where he has played a key role in advancing international partnerships, research initiatives, and educational exchanges. Mr. Aurnob attributes much of his professional growth to the mentorship and guidance provided by IOHSK leadership. He expresses sincere gratitude to Dr. Hosung So, Professor at California State University, San Bernardino, and President and CEO of IOHSK, whose unwavering encouragement has helped shape his vision of sport and physical activity as powerful tools for human development and social progress.

He also extends deep appreciation for the generous scholarship support provided by Dr. Thomas L. McKenzie, Lifetime Honorary President of IOHSK and Professor Emeritus at San Diego State University, and Randi McKenzie, Emeritus Associate Dean of San Diego State University. Their support has been instrumental in enabling him to continue his academic journey and pursue advanced scholarly goals.

In addition, Mr. Aurnob acknowledges the invaluable guidance and encouragement of IOHSK’s current and former board members, whose mentorship has enriched his academic and professional development through presentations, scholarly dialogue, and collaborative initiatives. He offers special recognition to Drs. Hyeonho Yu (USA), Cuauhtemoc Carboni (USA), Soojin Yoo (USA), Boung Jin Kang (USA), Germina Cosma (Romania), Stephen Hankil Shin (USA), Jerome Porto (Philippines), Arvin Andacao (Philippines), Sungje Park (Korea), Soonmi Choi (USA), Joon Young Kim (USA), Naoki Suzuki (Japan), and Ruben Tagare (Philippines) for their continued inspiration and support.

Mr. Aurnob also expresses gratitude to Dr. Xiaojie Tian, Associate Professor at the University of Tsukuba, who will supervise his master’s research focusing on the role of sport in empowering marginalized communities, particularly youth in disadvantaged or displaced environments.

This achievement is further grounded in the strong academic foundation provided by the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh, where Mr. Aurnob is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Physical Education and Sports Science. His acceptance into the IDS program in Japan reflects a convergence of academic dedication, international engagement, and visionary mentorship.

As Mr. Aurnob prepares to begin this next chapter of his academic and professional journey in Japan, IOHSK celebrates his success as a reflection of its enduring mission to foster leadership, innovation, and global cooperation through health, sports, and kinesiology. IOHSK extends its heartfelt congratulations and looks forward to his continued contributions to promoting peace, development, and the transformative power of sport worldwide.
